Deathstate Pax East 2015 Indie Megabooth Wrapup

One of the nightmarish Dimensional Creepers. Few have witnessed it with their own eyes and lived to tell the tale.

The Deathstate team is back from Pax! We want to send out a huge “Thank You!” to every person who made the journey to visit us, the team behind the Indie MegaBooth, and all the enforcers who made Pax such an awesome experience! The response to Deathstate has been overwhelming; we’ve met many new fans and received invaluable feedback that will help us produce the best (and most challenging!) game we possibly can.

Over the course of the weekend you tallied up some impressive stats!

* There were 469 total attempts to plumb the depths of the Fortress of Torment, the majority of which unfortunately ended in tragedy. It’s not all doom and gloom though – by Sunday night there were 26 confirmed boss kills!

* You have begun to take your toll on the limitless hordes of astral horror, with over 50,000 enemies killed.

* Just three brave souls were able to shoulder the burden of the ultimate challenge – to defeat the ghastly Dimensional Creeper!

Happy Thanksgiving from Deathstate

Thanksgiving in the Ossein Swamp is not a pretty sight.

Whether you’re dining at home with family and friends or lost somewhere within the outer abyss without a cranberry to your name, have a safe and pleasant Thanksgiving! If you’re stressed over traveling or the inclement weather be thankful you aren’t being hunted by a hungry horde of dire turkeys.

Salutations, star pilgrims!

So what is this thing called Deathstate? Some astral artifact from another plane of existence? A distress signal from the 7th dimension?

In 2013 Workinman Interactive hosted an in-office game jam and an early HTML5 build of Deathstate was one of the results. Created by Matt Leffler and Peter Lazarski, they both continued to develop the project during breaks in their day to day work. Fueled by their obsession of Cave bullet hell shmups, Hellraiser films, Lovecraftian horror, and Dungeon Crawl, Deathstate is a true labor of otherworldly love. After over a year of gradual design, polish and porting to Unity, Deathstate features multiple worlds to explore filled with over a dozen weird monsters to battle and nearly one hundred items, relics, and organs to discover.
